Kyle Hockman - Head Coach

Coach Hockman replaced the legendary coach Jimmy Dorsey in Feburary of 2008. Coach Hockman is a 1990 graduate of Bowling Green State University where he was a three year starter on the football team. His coaching experience includes: Graduate Assistant Coach at East Carolina University and West Virginia University; Head Football Coach ay Perry HS in Lima, OH; Offensive Coordinator at Millersville University in Lancaster, PA; Head Football Coach at Ryle HS in Union, KY; Tight Ends/Special Teams Coach at East Tennessee State University; and Head Football Coach at Campbell HS in Smyrna, GA.

Most recently, Coach Hockman led the Campball Spartans to a Co-Region Championship with a 9-3 record and to the 2nd round of the State Play-Offs. Their final ranking was 9th in the state. He was Cobb County Coach of the Year and the Spartans were the Team of the Year for 2007.

Coach Hockman will be installing the Pistol Offense at McEachern, the offense he has been speaking about all over the country. Defensively he will install the 3-3 stack with an aggressive, blitzing style.


Coach Hockman is married to Cindy, his wife of 15 years. The Hockman's have two children, Savanna, born in 1997, and Bailey, born in 1998.


 
 
 
    Brent Haygood - Offensive Line Coach

Coach Haygood is a native of Cobb county.  He is a 1993 graduate of Georgia College where he earned a degree in Health and Physical Education.  He is starting his eighth year as an Adapted PE teacher for Cobb County.

Coach Haygood works with the offensive line along with coaching girls golf.  Brent and his wife, Julie, have been married for five years and have two children, Emma, age five, and Josh, age four.

 
 
 
    Van Spence - Quarterbacks Coach

Coach Spence, a native from Calhoun, Georgia is entering his seventh year at McEachern High School. Coach Spence played collegiate baseball at Kennesaw State University where he earned a B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education. This summer, he completed a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State. Currently, Coach Spence teaches weight training, team sports, and personal fitness.

This season, Coach Spence will continue to work with the Indians’ quarterbacks. He also serves as the JV Head baseball coach in the spring.

Over the summer, Coach Spence married the former Mandy Bode of Marietta, Georgia. She works as a 5th grade teacher at Blackwell Elementary. In his free time, Coach Spence enjoys spending time with his wife, golf, volleyball, going to concerts, and attending University of Georgia athletic events.

 
 
 
    Matt Moody - Running Backs Coach

Coach Moody is a native of Jesup, Georgia. He is a 1987 graduate of Wayne County High School and a 1992 graduate of Valdosta State University where he earned a B.A. degree in history. In 2005, he completed a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University.

Matt's coaching career includes four years at Wayne County High School in Jesup, Georgia, as a middle school coach, three years at Coffee High School in Douglas, Georgia as the varsity running backs coach, and two years at Bainbridge High School in Bainbridge, Georgia also as the running backs coach.

He is beginning his fifth year at McEachern and will be coaching the varsity running backs. Matt's wife, the former Gillian Nicholson of Colquitt, Georgia, works as a school counselor at Kennesaw Mountain High School. They had their first child, Mary Mattalyn in December.

Matt enjoys hunting, wakeboarding, UGA football games, playing with their black lab, Lincoln and spending time with his family.
